A pivotal juggler, event producer, and teacher from the west coast of the US, Richard Hartnell is best known as one of the world's eminent practitioners of contact juggling. Richard was a co-founder of the Bellingham Circus Guild in the late '00s as it spun off from the Dream Science Circus.

Richard Hartnell is among the most distinguished American contact jugglers.

From the fundamentals to the far reaches, Richard's grasp of contact juggling technique has earned him places as a coveted instructor and performer across the United States and another eleven countries beyond. He is a co-founder of the Bellingham Circus Guild in Washington State and a resident artist emeritus at some of the Bay Area's premier studios of prop-based circus arts.

From intimate indie stages to tremendous festival fields, Richard has years of experience leaving audiences walking away buzzing about the act. Three-stage acts run the gamut from high-energy circus feats to transcendent storytelling acts.

Honed to perfection by hardened street audiences yet smoothly cultivated in the parlor, Richard is top-notch at charming close-up audiences and adding flavor and visual ambiance to all kinds of events.

Well-known among fire spinners, Richard is one of a perhaps single-digit number of jugglers known to perform the "contact fireball" act capably. A previous resident artist at one of the world's most famous fire spinning collectives, he's within arm's reach of as many fire spinners as you need, guaranteed.

New Year Eve Requirments:
  • Requests a secure green room area, shared is fine
  • A microphone for the interstitial bits.
  • If food is available I'll want a meal break, or I'll want to know ahead of time.
  • Presumably, there's a sound tech working throughout and I'd need them to run my mic and backup audio.
